Dear Friends of Lifespire,

Welcome to Lifespire’s 9^th Annual Golf Classic at the White Beeches Golf and Country Club.  We are particularly grateful that you have participated in our annual fund raising event to support individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities.  The decision to host this year’s event was particularly difficult in light of the poor economy. Nonetheless, members of our Board of Directors, our management staff, and the Golf Committee feel it especially important that during these difficult times that we remind everyone that, despite a poor economy, the needs of our consumers is not diminished.  Regardless of how poorly the stock market does, our staff must attend to all the needs of our consumers.  Simply because New York State’s deficit is upwards of $16 billion that we can cut back on the needed services we provide. 

So, it is in this time of economic crisis that we reach out to those who have supported us in the past and ask once again for your financial support.  The fact that you are attending this event says a great deal about how you feel about the work done by Lifespire and we are extremely grateful.

We cannot predict when the financial situation will improve in New York or for that matter, in the rest of the country.  Large deficits are projected for the next several years and it will become increasingly difficult to provide superior care and services to our consumers.  Your financial support is vital if Lifespire is to continue to meet its Mission.
