golf tournament impacts positively on all Americans, especially our nation’s
youth who learn the price of freedom and the value of public service to America
through the Foundation’s educational programming.
Located on Pennsylvania Avenue, it is the site of vibrant historical exhibits, enlightening naval symposia, and an electronic treasure trove that documents the careers of Sea Service Men and Woman past and present in the Navy Log. It is a fitting platform for ship reunions; reenlistments, retirements, and ceremonies commemorating milestones in our nations’ rich naval history.
American Sailors have maintained the watch, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year since the founding of our country. Individually their deeds rarely match the nation’s glory for which they are performed—the cold, storm-drenched mid-watches at sea where thoughts of home are their only warmth; the lonely vigils worlds away from home; and the exhaustion from round-the-clock General Quarters where each and every crewmember stands at the ready at battle stations. These self-sacrificing, dedicated professionals are routinely torn from family and loved ones while the rest of the world pays little mind.
